Struggling with internet paywalls? if yes you are on the right blog…..
I looked all over the internet. I couldnβt believe that there was no single guided article that helps non-tech users to solve this problem, I wrote it down in my notes app as one of those cool hacks for my audience, and “finally I wrote this after 3 weeks of procrastination ”
πΆBut Let’s first understand “What is a paywall“
Pay + Wall = Money + Restriction
“a system that prevents Internet users from accessing certain Web content without a paid subscription”
How does a paywall work?
Imagine you are in your flow doing research, browsing through articles, and trying to make sense of the volumes of info youβve been rapidly uploading into your brain. And Boom! π₯
Suddenly, a paywall pop-up came up on your screen with some $$ price, and paid subscription and make that website impossible to read.

It may be a random publication that you never heard of before. Either way, you have no intention of subscribing π
If you are not a regular reader, you will probably close the tab and click the back button to find another article. or flush your reading entirely. which 80% of people on the internet do.

12ft.io

How does 12ft.io it work?
The idea is pretty simple, news sites want Google to index their content so it shows up in search results. So they don’t show a paywall to the Google crawler bots. you benefit from this because the Google crawler will cache a copy of the site every time it crawls it.

One I’ve found to work best to remove paywalls is called Spaywall. They have a Chrome extension and also a website spaywall.com which works for mobile too.
